I haven't really been in the mood or feeling creative at all since before Christmas. But this weekend I had a very productive weekend. I got a ton of cleaning done this weekend. Then last night Kim went to be REALLY early so I had some time to myself so I did a little scrappin' This is what came out of it.
I've really had this thought in my head to take a play off of "got milk?" for these pics. I wasn't entirely happy with how it was coming out but with a little help this morning from Mel it worked out much better. Sometime I just need a little creative look from someone else to get it right. Thanks Mel for the help.
The kit is from Little Dreamer's it's called Pink Chocolate.

I just love "GIRL ONLY" days
Today was President's Day so I had the day off from work. Larry had to work so Kimmie and I got to have a "girl only" day. Kim had a dentist appointment this morning and then we got to spend part of the day shopping in the city.
Got my sweet girl a new booster seat for the car (can't believe she's that big already. Where did my baby go?) and new shoes, new outfit, new swimsuit and new sunglasses. We had a great time at lunch. Just sitting back at Wendy's having chickies, french fries and soda.

What is wrong with people?
We got Kimmie a puppy for her birthday in August. A sweet little sheppard mix. We called her Ginger. After 6 months is was very apparent that she seriously needed someone who could spend more time with her. She seemed to be suffering from seperations anxiety. We would leave the house and come home to a horrible mess. She would chew everything she could get a hold of and seemed to think that our living room was the bathroom. We just couldn't do it any more. No matter what we did it was the same thing every day. So we have been looking for that new home for her now for a few weeks. And finally Friday night got a call from a lady who was very excited about having her. We were going to take her to her on Monday morning. Unfortunately though when we let her out on Sunday she left the yard and was hit by a car. Whoever hit her left her laying in the street in front of our house. And couldn't even be decent enough to let us know that they killed her. We were preoccupied with a project that has been on the "to do list" for a few weeks when a friend who lives down the street knocked on our door. He happened to be walking his own dog when he found her. Larry and I got her off the road and took care of her.
We didn't let Kim see her but I did take the opportunity to talk to her about it. I told her that Ginger didn't listen when she was told to stay in the yard and went out in the street and a car ran her over. And just like when we step on an ant and squish it to kill it that was what the car did to Ginger. I really thought it was important for her to know what happened and what could happen to her if she goes out in the street herself. Without the graffic details.
I just really hope that no one does the same to the jerk that killed our dog and didn't have the decentcy to let us know. I understand that accidents happen. Animals run out in front of cars and you can't stop in time but atleast tell someone. Don't just drive off and leave them to die alone in a cold snow bank.

Take a bath already.......
Ok so I just want to know why is that people insist on not bathing? We have those that smell like cigarettes and/or booze, those that smell like B.O. and then there are the great ones that smell like urine. I don't get it. Can't they smell themselves? How does one go around stinking and not be aware of it?
Yes I'm a bit of a freak about odors on myself and in my home. And I have gotten worse about it since we got our dog. I'm so afraid that someone will come in the house and smell something. I shampoo my carpets so often I swear they are wearing thin. And I think that my phobia is wearing off on my 3 year old. She has to have "smell pretties" and stuff so she doesn't have "stinky pits". And she walks around the house wanting to spray the Febreeze on everything. She says she's "cleaning because that room is stinky" or so she thinks.
I even have a can of air freshener in my desk drawer for just the occasion that I have a stinky customer. This came up today because a friend was talking about an issue she has with a smelly co-worker and I had a smelly customer come in. He had an appointment and was a half hour early. He stunk of urine. Everyone else was at lunch and I offered the man to wait in the waiting room but instead he stood just a few short feet from my desk. I'm sure it would have been rude of me to go spray him down. Could you imagine actually doing that? Wouldn't that be something?!?!

AHHHH A NEW BED
You never really realize how bad your bed is until you get a new one. We decided this year with part of our tax return to get ourselves a new bed. Our old one was a queen and since Kim spends most nights with us in our bed we needed more room. A KING it was decided that we would get. A nice firm one with a pillow-top for comfort. I'm not kidding when I tell you that the two of us could sleep quite comfortable on the floor with just a foam pad to cushion us. So we went to Spokane 2 weekends ago to buy a new bed. Northwest Bedding.....the best prices because they are the factory. At least that's what they say. We did get a good price on a new mattress set and they included a free frame and free delivery. That delivery part was great since it's 80 miles from their store to my house.
They were supposed to deliver last week but with all the snow we've been getting they couldn't make it. The roads were just to bad to risk. So they finally got here with it on yesterday. They were really trying to hurry and get caught up on everything that they were behind on from last week so we had to set it up ourselves. That's OK I guess. Not like it's rocket science really.
So we get home from work and get to work on it. Finally get it all together and made. I splurged a bit this time with new bedding. I decided that I wasn't buying sheets based on their price this time. I went for thread count. 450 count. They are so soft.
Larry, of course, went to bed way before Kim and I. He quickly fell asleep himself. Then when Kim and I finally came to bed. We snuggled in. First think she said was "look momma we are squishing each other". I turned the TV off and in just minutes we were both asleep. She hasn't moved since. And if it wasn't for the alarm and having to go to work I wouldn't have gotten up myself.
We still need to get a new headboard but at this point it wasn't on the priority list. That can wait till I find the one that I love. Next on the list though is new pillows.

SNOW SNOW and MORE SNOW
Just when you think we couldn't possibly get any more....we wake up to another 6+ inches. This past week it has done nothing but snow. It's gotten so deep and heavy that everyone is on top of their roofs shoveling it off. Unfortunately yesterday was to much for the school bus garage. The roof couldn't hold the weight of the snow any longer and it caved in. 6 buses damaged, 2 of those totalled. So unfortunate.
I've only been stuck in my driveway twice this week. The first time was the worst. Thankfully a nice neighbor stopped and pulled me out with his truck. I was so grateful to his kindness. When I said to Kim "we're stuck in the driveway baby" she looked at me with this serious look on her face and said "We're glued to the driveway momma?" I couldn't possibly think of a better way to describe being stuck in the drive way.
Then on Friday I had troubles getting out again. But with a little patients and a lot of kitty litter I got out. After I left at 9:00 a friend of ours came by and plowed out our drive way. But by the time I got home at 3:00 there was another 8 inches and you couldn't even see where he had plowed. Man, I'm glad he did though and I didn't have that much more to shovel.
I was not one bit surprised that Punksatony Phil saw his shadow this morning. At the rate we are going here in Idaho winter will never be over. At the very least it will be July before the snow in our yard is gone.

I Can Not Believe It

Ok well here it is.......
I can't believe that I hadn't even been over here in 3 months. I have to admit that I started this blog simply for one of the challenges that they do over at Sweet Shoppe but I haven't been able to keep up in a while. So now it's going to be more about me and not that. After Halloween, then Thanksgiving, Christmas and the New Year everything has been so crazy. Now that we are settling into the new year I am on Jury Duty. UGGGHHHH!!! I realize that it's supposed to be my "civic duty" to serve but man. It's tough. Having to miss work. But I guess it's only till the end of March and hopefully I won't get picked to stay to often.
