2009 Calender

Every year I make a new calendar for Kimmie's Grandmas for Christmas. I usually take each month and put in my favorite picture from that month. This year I really had a struggle getting my creativity flowing so thanks to the help of my wonderfully creative friend we got it done. Actually I have to admit that she did most of it and I am so grateful to her for it.

"Did you hear something?"

There's a little game that goes on every night in our house at about bedtime (even some times just during the day)we call it "Did you hear something?" Larry will ask Kim "Did you hear something?" and she will in almost a whisper say "Tickle" and the tickling begins. He has a few times tickled her till she peed her pants and even one time she was laughing so hard that she actually got sick. But even with that the fun didn't stop. It's just one of the things that we have to do each night. Making that connection with each other and adding some laughter to our house makes even the hardest days end on a good note.

Journalling

You and your Daddy have a little game that you play every night before bedtime. He’ll ask you “Did you hear something?” and your answer is always in almost a whisper “Tickle”. That’s when the tickle monster attacks. You laugh and laugh. Actually it’s not unusual for you to actual get to laughing so hard that you pee. You even one night laughed so hard you got sick. But even that didn’t stop the fun. I love to hear your sweet laugh after I hear Daddy ask "Did you hear something?"

Not Mr. Wonderful

In light of Father's Day being this month the girls over at the Sweet Shoppe posted a challenge to scrap a layout about a man that has been influential in your life. So I started to scrap a page about my father. It took a direction that I'm sure wasn't what you would normally see in regards to Father's Day but it is what it is. It was a bit therapeutic getting it out on paper though.

Journaling
When I think about my childhood I don’t remember happy father-daughter moments. I remember hurt, anger and pain. You were rarely home and when you were it wasn’t a pleasant time for us. Now that I am grow, married and have a child of my own I could never imagine being the kind of person that you are. The fact that you can look me in the eye now and not believe that you did anything wrong is unbelievable to me. That you could actually think that you were a great father while you were beating my brothers and molesting me. That is exactly why you are no longer part of my life. My daughter will never call you Grandpa. You will never be invited to her birthday party or even Christmas dinner. I have forgiven you and I’m no longer angry because that gives you the control and I’m not allowing you to have that part of me ever again. I will never forget what you did to us. And I could never trust you in my life or with my child. But I do want to thank you. As odd as that might sound to some. I want to thank you for showing me the kind of man that I didn’t want to marry. For showing me the kind of parent NOT to be. And for making me the person I am. Had you not been so abusive I would not have become the person I am today. A strong, independent, courageous SURVIVOR. I’m no longer the victim of the pain you inflicted. And you will never have that control over me again.

Scrappin'

So it occurred to me the other day that other then the slide show I have on here that has a handful of pages I've scrapped I have only posted one page that I did a few months back. I got to thinking that I should really be sharing more of what I've been working on. So that is what I'm going to do. I am going to try to start posting a few new pages a week as I can. So this is what I've done this week.

Journaling says ~ Your first big girl bike. You knew exactly what you wanted. A pink princess bike with sparkles and a white seat. It was as if you had seen what they had at the store. We all went to the store to get it for you. And sure enough they had just the right one. You were so excited about it that you had to ride it through the store to pay for it. When we got home you stayed out till it was past bed time learning to ride it.

I've been working on some challenges over at Sweet Shoppe trying to get some of my scrapping caught up. I'm so far behind.

Did a little scrappin' this weekend

I haven't really been in the mood or feeling creative at all since before Christmas. But this weekend I had a very productive weekend. I got a ton of cleaning done this weekend. Then last night Kim went to be REALLY early so I had some time to myself so I did a little scrappin' This is what came out of it.

I've really had this thought in my head to take a play off of "got milk?" for these pics. I wasn't entirely happy with how it was coming out but with a little help this morning from Mel it worked out much better. Sometime I just need a little creative look from someone else to get it right. Thanks Mel for the help.

The kit is from Little Dreamer's it's called Pink Chocolate.
